Jeevani Centre For Students Wellbeing
The JEEVANI program has been launched in the year 2019. It is a project of the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala. The program aims at providing early intervention for psychological issues and help in improving awareness of mental health among college students. Jeevani Centre for Students Wellbeing has been functioning in the college since August 2019, a psychologist provides counseling services on all working days at the centre. Several mental health awareness programmes were conducted by the Jeevani Centre.
As part of World Mental Health Day, October 10,2021, the Jeevani Centre for Students Wellbeing has organized a webinar on “ Post-Covid Campus Life and Mental Health of Students.” The resource person was Dr. Rekha B. Raveendran, Founder- Bodhita Psychological Services. Yasaswany S started with a welcome speech. The webinar was inaugurated by Prathapan N, Principal In charge, Govt. Arts & Science College, Tholanur and Dr.Powshi V proposed the vote of thanks. The session was informative and interactive, and it lasted for two hours and around 100 students participated.
As part of Human Rights Day, December 10, 2021, the Jeevani Centre for Students Wellbeing conducted two events, one is a Flash Mob for creating awareness among students and the other is a poster making competition, the topic given for the competition was equality and the winner will be awarded the best poster award. The slogan for Human Rights Day “ All Human, All Equal” was conveyed to all on December 10, 2021.
The Jeevani Centre for Students Wellbeing has conducted a Debate on Gender Neutrality & Equality on December 22, 2021 taking into account the recent occurrences in regard to the gender neutral school uniform in Kerala based on Gender Neutrality. Around 15 students from various departments participated and the audience included students and faculties. The Jeevani Coordinator, Saraswathy R started with a welcome speech and Yasaswany S gave a brief introduction about the debate and moderated the same. The program was inaugurated by Prathapan N, Principal In charge, Govt. Arts & Science College, Tholanur and the program was concluded by ShanojUssanar.
